Sometimes people tell me that there are not enough practical advice on eczema here.
But I have had some good success in my career aromatherapist regarding eczema, especially in children.
I decided to share with you some practical advice, which you will find also contain complete protocols in my latest book "SOS Natural Skin", co-written with my friend Annie Casamayou naturopath.
Here is an overview of the ideal skin cosmetics in case of eczema, for everyone who suffer ...
The gratouilles: the first reflex
Eczema often goes hand in hand with an unbearable itching sensation. Dry skin of eczema lesions can cause a craving to scratch, scrape or aggravate the eczema, the skin becomes inflamed and itching are stronger. You enter a vicious circle whose consequences can be severe and painful: abrasions, thickening of the skin, secondary infection.
Adopt best practices:
• Cut nails short to avoid much too aggressive gestures.
• Use (outside crises) moisturizing creams or oils.
• Of the lesions, water is the best skin rebalancing: spray thermal water spray.
• Dusting with white or green clay helps relieve itching and promotes healing very effectively. Use clay superfine powder in the manner of a talc on redness.
• The Roman chamomile hydrosol for children or chamomile Matricaria for adults disinfects and soothes itching. Apply them in the form of compresses or by spraying directly on the lesion.
Dermocosmetics eczema:
To decrease discomfort and correct the disorders of eczema skin care products are to be chosen with care. Perform a soft toilet and fight against drought by following these instructions.
1 key gesture gently clean the particular sensitivity of atopic skin requires the use of mild detergents and if possible without soap. Use a foaming gel bio soap or dermatological organic bread without soap, avoid at all costs the synthetic fragrance and lanolin in the formulas. Otherwise, opt for a natural soap surgras saponified cold (ADNS logos or ASAF for example). When washing, avoid too hot and long baths. Take rather moderately hot showers. In some areas the water is sweet and beneficial for atopic skin, in others, on the contrary it is very hard and becomes irritating. In this case, space the bathroom or add a small organic apple cider vinegar drink in the bath water to soften it. The hot oatmeal calm the itching and reduces redness. Dry yourself very carefully after each toilet and always apply a moisturizer to strengthen the hydrolipidic film and restore the barrier function of the skin.
2nd key gesture hydrate as much as possible The anomaly of the upper layers of the skin makes it essential hydration, and sometimes several times a day. In times of crisis, it is recommended to avoid the application of cosmetics on the lesions, even those stamped "atopic skin." Too complex cosmetic formulas could aggravate eczema, some contain irritating compounds, and secondly they promote the emergence of infectious germs which toxins are major allergens. However, a few drops of vegetable oil, borage, evening primrose, calendula or argan on lesions can be remarkably effective and without side effects. Outside of crises, care to maintain hydration of the skin with the application of the same oils rich in essential fatty acids, or those avocado, calendula or shea butter. Vegetable oils do not penetrate well? Then alternate with a more fluid oil certified organic cream and perfume for a while. Aloe vera is also a good emollient, it promotes healing of patches of eczema. If you do not like the oil sensation in the folds (behind the knees, armpits, groin on ...), mix equal parts of aloe vera gel 100% natural and organic with oily macerate calendula. Shake well before each use this mixture to emulsify. Please note that the presence of aloe vera gel makes the most fragile in preparation for its conservation. If you have mixed the gel and oil in one bottle, be sure to use the product within 3 weeks after opening and keep away from air, light and heat.
SOS infants: shea butter The shea butter is a good base to massage the skin of atopic babies, it reduces itching, helps repair damaged skin and deposits a protective film while leaving the skin breathe. It is extracted from the kernels of the Sahel shea nuts and used for centuries in Africa to feed, care, massage babies, beautify the skin and hair. It contains vitamins A and E, essential fatty acids. It restores suppleness to the skin and acts very effectively irritation with its healing and soothing properties. To use a very small amount is enough: Take a knob of butter and let it melt slowly in the hands before applying it. I recommend good pure shea butter and unrefined.
My tips and more

From 3 months, you can add to your shea butter 1% essential oil of German Chamomile (Matricaria recutita), for an even better effect on the itching and redness.Benchmark: 10 grams of softened butter Shea, dilute 2 drops of essential oil.
- For eczema "drops" or oozing (often located on the hands), it is possible to practice several dermocosmetic care adapted. Every day we bathed the area in warm water with green clay. Allow at least 10 minutes of hand bath in a basin of warm water with a small green clay diluted glass. Massage oil nigella at will! Furthermore, 1 time a day if possible, apply a poultice of green clay enriched vegetable oil on the affected areas. Green clay poultice for a poultice in a bowl of glass or ceramic, pour: • 1 tablespoon of green clay ultraventilée powder • 1 teaspoon of borage oil or black cumin • 2-3 tablespoons Coffee mineral water or, better but more expensive, of lavender hydrosol Mix with a spoon or a wooden spatula or plastic to a smooth, thick paste. Apply this thick paste on the affected area. Keep the clay in place with a moist bandage. Leave on for at least 30 minutes before rinsing and drying. This poultice will effectively clean the skin and especially to promote faster healing.
-. For all eczemas In all cases except infants, of evening primrose oil capsules to be taken internally are a must.
